Francis C. Shonio, 82
West Brookfield - Francis C. Shonio, 82, of Chapman Ave., died Thursday, March 26, 2015 in St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves three sons, Scott Shonio of West Brookfield, Mark Shonio of Ware and Darwin Shonio and his wife Doranne of Southbridge; one daughter, Taunya Neilsen and her husband Jamie of Warren; his former wife, Elaine Shonio of Warren; a sister Shirley Wing of Brooklyn, CT; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by several siblings. He was born in Franklin, VT son of the late Myrtle (Yates) Paquette and grew up in Burlington and lived in Warren before moving to West Brookfield in 2004.
Mr. Shonio was a tractor trailer driver for 32 years for the Anchor Motor Freight in Framingham before retiring in 1996.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
Francis was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed golfing. He belonged to the Teamsters Local 170, the National Rifle Association and the Quaboag Sportsman's Club. He also was a big fan of all the New England sports teams and he especially loved to watch his two granddaughters, Kassidy and Corah play soccer.
Calling hours for Francis will be held Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 1 to 3 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield with a funeral service at 3 PM in the funeral home.
