North Brookfield - Francis R. Smith, Jr., 74, died March 10, 2016 in the Quaboag Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Ruth Ann Smith; one daughter Tamara Morrison and her husband James of Brimfield; a sister, Priscilla Robbie and her husband Steven of North Brookfield; four grandchildren, Mallori, Andrew and his wife Katie, Alexandra, Connor and his wife Rachael, and many, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Clarinda Chisholm. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis R. and Margaret A. (Gregson) Smith and grew up in Brookfield and later lived in Westfield and Littleton before moving to North Brookfield in 1976.
Mr. Smith was the Plant Manager for the Warren Pumps Co. in Warren for 27 years before retiring in 2003.
Francis was a member of the First Congregational Church in North Brookfield, the North Brookfield Sportsman's Club and the Hayden Lodge of Masons where he received his 50 year medal as a Master Mason. He loved candlepin bowling and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A Graveside Service for Francis will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Brookfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
