Francis Robert Vadnais

Palmer---Francis R. Vadnais,60, passed away at home on Dec. 24th after a courageous year long battle with cancer. He was born in Chicopee, son of Yvonne (Sorel) Vadnais and the late Robert Vadnais. Besides his mother he leaves his brothers, Gerard and is wife Joni of Ludlow, Andre of Ware, his sisters Jeanne Kochanek and her husband Joseph of Ware, and Monique Vadnais of Palmer, his step-daughters Jessica and Jennifer, his step-grandchildren Jasmin and Michael, a niece Melissa Letourneau and her husband Jon of Southwick, as well as 3 step-nieces Amy, Cindy and Michelle. Francis worked for the State of Massachusetts for many years, serving as Head Chef at Belchertown Developmental Center and later in maintenance at Monson Developmental Center , retiring in 2012. He grew up in Ware, and had also lived in Brimfield, before moving to Palmer 8 years ago. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and was a member of many leagues, he also enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in All Saints Church, North St. in Ware on Thursday Jan. 14th at 10am. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday Jan 13th from 4 to 7 pm at the Charbonneau Funeral Home , 30 Pleasant St., Ware. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in his memory to the D'Amour Cancer Center, 3400 Main St. Springfield Ma.
