Geraldine A. Mckeon

March 15, 1940 — March 23, 2024

West Warren - Geraldine A. "Gerry" (Young) McKeon, 84, of West Warren, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Hartford Hospital.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Edward T. "Tom" McKeon; her beloved son, Edward T. McKeon, Jr.; her brother, Edmund Young of Brookfield; her sister, Joan Hebert of North Brookfield; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Young; and by her sister, Elaine Berube.  She was born in Brookfield, daughter of the late Donald G. and Lena M. (Pronto) Young.

Gerry worked as a machine operator for a myriad of companies, including William E. Wright Co., Roger's Plastics, and Persky's, for most of her working life, before retiring.

Gerry was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend to many.  She enjoyed the various church activities at the George Whitefield Methodist Church that she was able to participate in, such as their suppers and fairs, etc.  She loved to spend her free time reading, and she specifically enjoyed delving into amish fiction.  She enjoyed gospel music, as well as country, and her favorite country singer was Alan Jackson. Most of all, she loved the 40 years of vacationing she spent with Tom at Well's Beach in Maine.

She was a member of Saint Stanislaus Church in West Warren.

A graveside service for Gerry will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 11:00am in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Warren.  The family respectfully asks that, as opposed to flowers, memorial donations please be made to the West Brookfield Food Pantry, 36 North Main Street, P.O. Box 371, West Brookfield, MA 01585.

Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
