Gregg A. Bell

West Brookfield - Gregg A. Bell, 67, died on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester.
He leaves his loving wife of 40 years, Linda M. (Spooner) Bell; his mother, Dorothy (Woodbury) Bell-Whittemore; one nephew, Donald E. Carlson of Pittsfield and three nieces, Darlene Ross, and Sondra Bonacquisti both of Pittsfield, and Donna Carlson of Lanesboro. He was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Carlson in 2005. He was born in Spencer, son of the late Donald L. Bell and was a lifelong resident of West Brookfield.
Mr. Bell graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High school in 1967, and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard shortly after, where he served for three years.
Gregg worked for the United States Postal Service before retiring in 1995, and was a former member of the West Brookfield Fire Department. He was a skilled furniture craftsman and woodworker, and also enjoyed wood carving, and vegetable gardening.
A Funeral Service for Gregg will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 11:00AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
