Harriet A. Griffiths

December 27, 1938 — March 21, 2026

Warren – Harriet A. Griffiths, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at UMass Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge.

Born in Quincy and raised in the Taunton area, Harriet was the daughter of the late Wolcott and Evelyn (Miller) Griffiths. She lived a long and fulfilled life, most recently surrounded by her "extended care family" at her group home. The residents and staff there didn't just care for her; they fell in love with her spirit and helped her live every day to the fullest.

Harriet was a woman who truly loved the spotlight. Whether she was singing, dancing, or posing for a photo—ideally with a funny Snapchat filter—she was happiest when she was the center of attention. She lived for social visits, lively parties, and the excitement of a trip to the Casino to gamble the night away, fancy dinners, spending the day at Hampton beach.

She is survived by her son, Brian Catino; her two granddaughters, Taylor and Jordyn, whom she loved tremendously; and her dedicated guardian, Donna Frietas, who cared for her deeply and compassionately for many years.

A calling hour for Harriet will be held on Tuesday afternoon, March 31, 2026, from 2:30 to 3:30pm in the Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield. A graveside service and burial will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery in Warren in the early spring. An online tribute page is available at varnumfuneralhome.com
