Helen T. (Goulet) Lavallee, 89, of Ware, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Quaboag Rehab and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield, MA, surrounded by family. She was born in Ware in 1925, the daughter of the late Arthur and Oda (Comeau) Goulet. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 59 years, Claude G. Lavallee, her sister Florence Morin and a great grandchild, Alexander Ayers. Helen leaves her sister Theresa St. Pierre of Ware. She also leaves seven children; George Lavallee and his wife Jeanne of Ware, Louise Woodard and her husband Jim of Brookfield, MA, Simone Piche of Ware, Robert Lavallee and his wife Carol of Ware, Denise Blodgett and her husband Bill of Ware, Rachel Allard of Ware, and Maurice Lavallee and his wife Geri of Tariffville, CT. Helen was very proud of her 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Her family would like to acknowledge the wonderful and loving care she received from the staff while at the Quaboag facility.
Helen's family was always her first priority and greatest ministry. She was first and foremost a loving wife to her husband and mother and homemaker to her family - selflessly putting their needs ahead of her own for so many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and All Saints churches.
A funeral service will be held at the All Saints Church on 17 North St. in Ware, MA on Saturday, October 24th, at 10:00 AM, followed by a brief burial service at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Helen's name to: "The Jubilee Cupboard" (at Trinity Episcopal Church), 20 Park St., Ware, Massachusetts 01082, 413-967-3274.
