Henry J. Phaneuf

Gilbertville - Henry J. Phaneuf, 83, of Chagnon Road, died on January 1, 2018 at St. Mary's Healthcare Center in Worcester.
He leaves his loving wife of 52 years, Ellen M. (Sauvageau) Phaneuf; one son, John H. Phaneuf and his wife Jeanine; two daughters, Diane Phaneuf, and Debra Beland and her husband Kenneth Gray; one sister, Claire Jones; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Kate Beland. He was born in Ware, son of the late, Henry and Emiliene (Demers) Phaneuf, and was a life-long resident of Gilbertville.
Mr. Phaneuf was a construction labor for Daniel O'Connell and Sons Construction Co. for over 30 years. He was a member of the Hardwick Farmers Exchange Cooperative, and a 50 year member of the Construction Laborer's International Union of North America. After retirement, he ran a local lawn care business which he operated for over 10 years. He grew vegetables on his farm, which he sold at local farmer's markets, also enjoyed wood working, and could fix just about anything.
Funeral Services for Henry will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made in Henry's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 80 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472, or www.alz.org .
