North Brookfield – Ian A. Charpentier, 35, of North Brookfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, surrounded by his family, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

He leaves behind his loving parents, Richard and Mary Charpentier of North Brookfield; his brother, Eric Charpentier and his wife, Lori, of North Brookfield; his brother, Aaron Charpentier of Sturbridge; his sister, Heather Carrington and her husband, Steven, of North Brookfield; as well as his nine nieces and nephews, his close cousins and extended family, and his many friends.

Ian graduated from North Brookfield High School in 2009. He enjoyed backyard wrestling, playing videogames, watching movies, caring for and spending time with his beloved cat, Marvin, and he was a huge Harry Potter fan. He loved visiting Universal Studios in Florida when he could, and he and Heather shared a particular love for their Harry Potter world. As the youngest of the group, Ian was always very close to his cousins. He enjoyed all the time they spent growing up together and valued his bonds with them, and with the rest of his family more than anything.

Calling hours for Ian will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM in Varnum Funeral Home, 43 E Main Street, West Brookfield, MA 01585. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the calling hours, at 6:00PM. Burial will be held in Walnut Grove Cemetery at a later date.
