Jean M. (Robitaille-Smigiel) Carrigan, 94, of Ware, died on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer.
She leaves her husband of 43 years, Normand V. Carrigan; her daughter, Judy Ann Cerrone and her husband David of Stuart, Florida; her son, John Smigiel and his wife Sylvia of Ware; her grandson, Christopher Cerrone, and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves her stepsons, Paul Carrigan of Boston and Peter Carrigan of Delray, Florida, and her step-grandson, Connor and family of Charleston, SC. She was predeceased by her first husband, Peter J. Smigiel in 1970, as well as her four brothers, and four sisters. She was born in Ware, daughter of the late Clara (L'Ecuyer) and Edward Robitaille, and was a life-long resident of the town.
Jean worked as a Sales Clerk at Latifa Industries for several years. She was a long-time member of and a Communicant of All Saint's Church, the Ware Grange, and the Golden Age Club, where she served as President.
A Funeral Mass for Jean will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 10AM in All Saints Church, 17 North St., in Ware. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 4 to 6pm in Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware. Burial will be in New Saint William Cemetery following mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Saints Church, 17 North St., Ware, MA 01082.
