Obituary

Jeanne M. (Picard) Elliott, 81, of West Brookfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026. Jeanne was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late William Picard and Mabel Picard, of Worcester, Massachusetts. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Worcester in 1963 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Worcester State University in 1967. She was a dedicated teacher for decades. She began her teaching career in Worcester public schools. She opened her own preschool, Little Folks Preschool, in Warren. She went on to teach kindergarten at Warren Elementary School. After moving to Florida, she continued teaching kindergarten, including at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Palm Coast and Bunnell Elementary School in Bunnell. After retiring from teaching, she volunteered at the Flagler Beach Public Library in Florida, where she led a children’s story hour. She volunteered as a guardian ad litem, protecting the interests of children. Jeanne enjoyed playing golf and was especially proud of her hole-in-one she made at The Links at The Sebasco Harbor Resort in Maine. She belonged to several women’s golf leagues, including one in Flagler Beach. She was a generous host of many social gatherings and activities. From organizing bingo at The Nautilus, barbecues at the lake, holiday parties, and playing games, she always enjoyed having fun. She loved being active and was also a member of the Flagler Beach Women’s Club. She worked hard, laughed easily, and was always up for adventures and celebrations. She treasured memories with her family at Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld. She loved spending time with friends and enjoyed family vacations, especially in Moody Beach, in Wells, Maine; North Haven, Maine; and Swanzey Lake, New Hampshire. She cherished time at the beach with her grandchildren. An avid traveler, she took countless cruises with her husband and family. She was most at peace looking out at the water. Her faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout her life. She leaves her husband of almost 60 years, Francis F. Elliott of West Brookfield. She was the devoted mother of three daughters, Maureen (Elliott) Desilets and her husband Todd Desilets of Worcester; Kathleen (Elliott) Vinson and her husband Mike Vinson, of Franklin; and Colleen (Elliott) Koss and her husband Robert Koss of Warren. She was the grandmother of Naomi Desilets and Deirdre Natsis and her husband Jason Natsis; Emily and Sean Vinson; and Cameron and Brady Koss. She also leaves her sister Suzanne Medine and her late husband Charles Medine of Worcester; her late brother Joseph Picard, and his wife Jeanne Picard; her niece Kirsten Ramsey and her husband Dennis; her nephew Matthew Medine and wife Caitlin; and her great-nieces Abbey Ramsey and Anna Medine; and her great-nephew Jack Ramsey.
