Ware---Jeanne A. McCarhty,99, died July 30, 2013 in Machias ME .She was born June 25, 1914 in Manhester NH, daughter of Omer and Flore (Grenier) Laroche. At the age of 14, Jeanne moved with her family to Three Rivers. She worked in her early years at Monson State Hospital and enjoyed working for many years at Taylor Gardens in Ware. She also had various jobs in local mills, but she was primarily a homemaker. During her life, Jeanne's greatest love was her family. She will be remembered for her wonderful homemade pies ,as a strong proponent for her children's education, her unchallenged skill at Chinese Checkers, her love for jigsaws and crosswords, as well as her soap operas. Jeanne along with her husband Leslie, grew and tended a huge vegetable garden, and fruit trees every year, and did much canning and preserving, as well as making wonderful fruit based desserts. Jeanne was a communicant of All Saints Church. In more recent years, she spent her summers in Lubec, ME enjoying its quiet beauty. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Leslie McCarthy of Ware, her eldest son Robert, and all of her siblings including, Lucienne Lopata and Loretta Laroche of Three Rivers, Roger Laroche of Palmer, Claire McGowan of North Carolina, and Violet Tassinari of Monson. She leaves her three children, Roger McCarthy of Ware and Lubec, Louise Anderson and her husband Robert of Walpole NH, and Jane St.Amand and her husband Gerard of Derry NH and Lubec. She also leaves her grandchildren Todd Anderson and his wife Hilary of Los Angeles and great grandchild Colby, Christina Conry and her husband Casey of Royalston and great grandchildren Cayden and Caiomhe, Jonathan Anderson and his wife Vida of Washington DC, and great grandchild Dahlia, Kaitlyn St.Amand of Derry NH, and Alyson St.Amand of Washington DC. Jeanne also leaves many nephews, nieces and friends. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday Aug. 7th at 11am in All Saints Church, 17 North St. Ware. Calling hours will preceed the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St. Burial will be in New St. William Cemetery.
