West Brookfield - Joan M. Canole, 83, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 surrounded by her family.
She leaves her best friend and companion of over 50 years, Mark L. Sherman of West Brookfield; a sister, Suzanne Zisk and a brother, Paul Young of Ware; nieces, Kim Goudreau and her husband Keith of Ware, Denise Pellissier and her husband Joseph of Ledyard, CT and Michelle Carmody and her husband Shawn of Ware; nephews, James Young and his wife Ruth and David Young and his wife Becky of Ware; ten great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-niece; two great-great-nephews and her lovable dog Sadie. She was born in Melrose and grew up in Ware before moving to West Brookfield 61 years ago. She was a Ware High School graduate Class of 1950.
Joan worked for Warren Pumps in Warren as a secretary for 20 years before retiring in 1990.
She enjoyed golfing, playing pitch, music, old movies, cooking and her trips to the casino.
A Funeral Mass for Joan will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Church in West Brookfield. A calling hour will be held Saturday prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield.
