West Brookfield - Jon C. Merrill, 66, of West Brookfield, died on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester following a brief illness.
He leaves two daughters, Kimberly Merrill and her husband Jesse Hyam of Jaffrey, NH, and, Erin Lopato and her husband Francis of North Brookfield; his son, Ryan Merrill and his wife Alicia of Barre; six grandchildren, Brayden, Blake, Damien, Peyton, Lucy, and Logan, as well as another grandchild on the way soon. He also leaves his brother, David Merrill of Warren, and three nephews. He was born in Ware, son of the late George and Ingrid (Kasparson) Merrill, and was a life-long resident of the area.
Jon worked as a machine operator at Vibram, Inc. in North Brookfield for 27 years. He also worked as an auto mechanic both professionally and as a hobby. He enjoyed working on cars, and could fix anything - he just liked working on it more if it had an engine.
A Celebration of Jon's life with family and friends is being planned for a later date. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in West Brookfield will be held privately in the spring.
