Wales - June P. (Walker) League, 91, of Lake George Rd., died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her home.
She leaves two sons, James and Thomas Keats; one daughter, Elizabeth Keats; a step-son, William League; two step-daughters, Barbara Lawlor and Patricia League; 6 grandchildren, Rachel, Laura, Joannah, Lyndsay, James and Shelley and one great-grandson, Dominic. Her husband of 42 years, Floyd W. League died in 2011. She was born in New York, NY, daughter of the late Robert and Augustus (Schultz) Walker, grew up on Long Island, and was a librarian at the East Islip Public Library for 15 years before retiring and moving to Wales 40 years ago.
June was a talented artist who loved teaching painting classes, gardening and reading.
A Memorial Service for June will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 3:30 PM in the Wales Senior Center, 85 Main St. Wales. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you plant a flower in June's memory.
