Obituary

Ware - Leo Francis Dominie, Jr., 69, of Ware, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25th, 2026 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind those he cherished most: his beloved daughter Adrienne Colby and her husband Stephen, and their two sweet Grand-Cats, Zoey and Maisie, of Bernardston, Massachusetts; his father, Leo Dominie, Sr. of Ware; and his four siblings, Donna Delaney and her husband Michael of Springfield, Massachusetts; Sandra Springer and her husband Dan of Niles, Illinois; Craig Dominie and his wife Lori of Lynchburg, Virginia; and Anita Deslauriers and her husband Christopher of Greensboro, North Carolina. He also leaves many nieces & nephews. Leo was predeceased by his mother, Claudette L Dominie, in 2020.

Leo was a man who found joy in the things he loved most; music, good food, the Boston Red Sox and family. His passion for music – especially his incredible talent playing the trumpet – was a special part of who he was. Leo was a member of the Ware High School Band from fifth through twelfth grade. Whether playing, listening, or simply sharing his love of music with others, he carried that passion throughout his life. A true foodie, Leo appreciated a great meal (especially a vanilla Hoodsie Cup!) and spent a majority of his professional career as a successful chef in and around Western Massachusetts, having received his Associate’s Degree in Hospitality Management Services from Quinsigamond Community College. His love for all New England sports was strong, but most specifically his love for the Boston Red Sox. His enthusiasm for his team was something those who knew him will always remember.

Leo also served in the United States Army for a short time until his honorable discharge.

Above everything else, Leo loved his family dearly and cherished his daughter, Adrienne. The love and pride he had for her was at the heart of his life, and the memories they shared will remain a lasting part of her life.

He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry on his love and sense of humor with them always. Though he will be deeply missed, Leo’s life is one to be celebrated – filled with music, good food, baseball, family, and most importantly, love.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, November 14th, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., at Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street, Ware. A funeral service will be held immediately following. Burial will follow at Aspen Grove Cemetery, 95 Pleasant Street, in Ware.
