Lester B. Collins

North Brookfield - Lester B. Collins, 97, of North Brookfield, died peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Holyoke Medical Center.
He leaves his daughter, Linda Mettig and her husband Stanley; his cousin, Paul Lagrand and his caregivers, Thomas and Elaine Emery. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris Hoffey; his second wife, Shirley Parker; his companion of 20 years, Marjorie Emery; two sons, Lester Collins, Jr., and David Collins as well as his step-daughter, Janice Charter.
Mr. Collins was a United States Navy veteran serving during World War II on the U.S.S. St. Louis CL-49.
Lester owed his own service garage in West Warren for over 25 years, before he retired in 2003. He also served as a deputy sheriff in Worcester County for over 27 years.
Grandpa Lester will be greatly missed by the entire Emery and Mallon families. They would like to thank all of the wonderful nurses and staff at the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke for Lester's dedicated and excellent care over the past four years.
A Calling Hour will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 10 to 11AM in Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main Street in West Brookfield followed by a Graveside at 11:30AM in St. Paul Cemetery in Warren with Military Honors.
