Ware - Linda Ann (Collins) Mettig, 72, of Ware, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center.
She leaves her loving husband of 51 years, Stanley G. Mettig of Ware; her daughter, Annette M. Koczur and her husband Steven of Gilbertville; her daughter, Melinda R. Mankin, and her husband Travis of Ware; her son, Derrick S. Mettig of Ware; her granddaughter, Taylor Bolduc and her husband Michael; her granddaughter, Sophia Mankin; as well as her nephew, Stephen Collins, and her niece, Kimberly Bousquet. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Lester Jr., and David Collins. She was born in Warren, daughter of the late Lester B. and Doris B. (Hoffey) Collins.
Linda was a stay-at-home mom so that she could raise her beloved children. Once they grew old enough, she went on to work as a waitress at Teresa's Restaurant in Ware for 38 years.
Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother (babcia), and friend to many. She loved cooking most of all, and was known by those around her as "Meals on Wheels." She enjoyed watching and listening to all of the cooking channels, even when away from the TV. She also enjoyed craftwork such as crocheting, knitting, and quilting, and she cherished her time spent with her kids and her family.
Calling hours for Linda will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 5pm to 7pm in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street, in Ware. A funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or at www.cancer.org .
