Louise M. Pierce

August 23, 1939 — January 30, 2024

West Brookfield - Louise M. (Dominque) Pierce, 84, of West Brookfield, died peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

She leaves her husband of 66 years, James F. Pierce; her son, David J. Pierce and his wife Leane of West Brookfield, and her daughter, Donna L. Kenward  and her husband Robert of Palmyra, VA; six grandchildren, Nathan Kenward and his wife Heather, Krista Zalatores and her husband Collin Myers, Ashley Baldi and her husband Robert, Jennifer Ramsey and her husband Sean, Bryan Kenward and his wife Jess, and Tyler Pierce, as well as six great-grandchildren, Oliver, Hayden, and Madison Baldi, William and Emersyn Ramsey, and Aiden Kenward; and her sister, Dorothy Steiger and sister in-law Louisa Curtis.  She was the daughter of the late Louis A. and Mary (Mitchell) Dominque.

Louise (lovingly known as Wheezie, Nana and Banana) was born in Oxford, and grew up in West Brookfield where she graduated from Warren High School.  She wed her loving husband at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish where they remained long-time members.  As an avid Red Sox fan, she especially enjoyed her annual trips to a game in Fenway Park with her family.  Louise loved shopping trips with family and friends, especially when it ended at her favorite restaurant, Olive Garden.  In her later years, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in her gazebo overlooking the peaceful Lake Wickaboag, while spending quality time with her husband.  Her most joyful times were spent with her large, extended family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Her eyes would light up whenever she saw or spoke of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished her pictures, FaceTime calls, and visits from her family and always met them at the door or window to wave goodbye.

A graveside service for Louise will be held in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in the spring.

Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
