?Lucille Anne Szlosek

July 13, 1934 — March 28, 2018

Ware - Lucille Anne (Couture) Szlosek, long-time resident of Ware, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 28th with her family by her side.

Born July 13, 1934, she grew up near the center of town on Aspen Street, one of three daughters and a son born to Raymond Couture and Marie Rose (Berthiaume) Couture.

During her high school years Lucille was active in many clubs and organizations; she was Captain of the Ware High basketball team and even took part in her Senior Year play; but her greatest role would be that of wife, mother, and grandmother.

She married Joe Szlosek - from the rival town of Palmer - in 1955. Together they purchased a house at 6 Chester Avenue in Ware; a place they would call home for nearly 60 years.

Family and Faith were at the center of her life. She raised five children - Joleen, Joseph, Mary-Jo, Cathy-Jo, and Joel - and was an active member of her church; volunteering whenever needed and singing in the choir.

Her greatest joys in this life included swimming in her pool, trips to the beach, attending church, and spending time with family.

She leaves behind: daughter Joleen Szlosek; son Joseph Szlosek and his wife Mary (Carroll) Szlosek; daughter Cathy-Jo (Szlosek) Samson; and son Joel Szlosek and his partner Andrea Mastroianni; as well as five grandchildren: Joelle Szlosek, Allison Szlosek, Amanda Szlosek, Kalleigh Samson, and Cody Samson; two sisters: Jeanette Griffin and Elaine Bernier; brother-in-law Raymond Bernier, sister-in-law Stephania Couture, and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass for Lucille will be held at All Saints Church, 17 North Street in Ware on Thursday, April 5th at 12 pm and everyone is asked to go directly to the church.  Following the Mass there will be a ceremony at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Ware.  Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street, Ware is assisting the family with arrangements.
