Margaret Elaine Bernard “Peggy”, age 87, of Warren Massachusetts passed away on December 26, 2025, in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
Born on December 7, 1938, in Ware Massachusetts, to George F Beaudry and Denise T (Courchesne) Beaudry. The family lived in Ware, West Brookfield and Warren,
“Peggy” was a hard-working individual whose first job was at American Athletic Shoe in Ware Ma where she met Robert Bernard and eventually married. After starting her family, she managed Cumberland Farms in Sturbridge until she ultimately found her favorite place of employment at Ames Department Store in Sturbridge. She worked in the ladies’ department and progressed into the offices running payroll & cash offices then eventually traveling store to store training cash offices throughout New England. When Ames closed, she spent her last few years part time at JC Penny in Sturbridge.
She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and had elected positions on The Warren Senior Housing Committee. She loved spending Sundays with her family playing cards and cooking. One of her greatest joys in retirement was belonging to card clubs at the Warren Senior Center and the card club players. Peggy enjoyed her iPad and would spend countless hours reading her mystery novels and playing Mahjong. She adored her cats and always had a special feline near her even at her passing. Her kitties were the most petted and loved cats around…
Peggy moved to Georgia in last few years and enjoyed countless adventures with her daughters and loved shopping and going out to eat. She was always up for adventure and looked forward to outings.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Williams and brother George “Oscar” Williams both from Texas.
She is survived by her daughters Elaine (Frank) Pierce of Wheelwright Ma, Sandra (Rose) of Jesup Ga., Michele (Christian) Zaccone of Mineral Bluff Ga.; grandsons Derek (Alison) Pierce. Trevor (Emily) Pierce, Great Granddaughters Annabelle & Eliza and her beloved kitty Kiera.
The world is a little dimmer without her smile, and she will be dearly missed.

Peggy will be laid to rest with her parents on Saturday April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at
St Paul’s Cemetery in Warren MA followed by a luncheon at The Publick House Sturbridge.
