West Brookfield – Margaret J. Henrichon, 94, of West Brookfield, died in the evening hours of January 22, 2025, with a granddaughter by her side, in Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer.
She leaves her children, David A. Henrichon, Ph.D. and his wife, Barbara (Iwanski) Henrichon, DNP, Frank Henrichon, his wife Dora, Patricia (Henrichon) Whitcomb, her husband Vincent, Michael Henrichon and his wife Heidi, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born in Constable, New York, daughter of the late Henry and Elise (Clapper) LaMay, and spent most of her busy life in Massachusetts.
Margaret worked at Big Y supermarkets for nearly 50 years, ending her career there as a Receiver prior to retiring. Margaret received a number of certifications through Cornell University and won a number of awards for her work. She enjoyed collecting dolls, and gardening around her home. She loved to read and gave up “turning the pages or folding the corners” of print books to instead reading e-books. She was an avid reader and enjoyed exploring the internet. Even in her later years, she could be seen riding her ATV with David and Barbara’s dog Bella at her side as she explored the fields and trails. She could be frequently found in the sunroom at home where she enjoyed bird watching.
A graveside service for Margaret will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10AM in New St. William Cemetery, Belchertown Road, in Ware, where her urn will be placed in the Columbarium niche with Robert.
Her funeral arrangements are under the care of Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main Street in West Brookfield.
