Barrington, NH / West Brookfield - Marie F. Burrill (Perkins), 87, of Barrington, New Hampshire, passed away on November 9, 2024. Born on August 4, 1937, in Burlington, Vermont, she was a longtime resident of West Brookfield, Massachusetts, before moving to live with her daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Jon Adams in Barrington.
Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur Bruce Burrill in 1996. Marie is survived by her four children: Arthur David Burrill, Karen Ostiguy and her husband Reed, Daniel Burrill and his wife Dianne, and Elizabeth Burrill and her husband Jon. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Emily Goulston and her husband Todd, Patrick Burrill, James Burrill and Riley Baker, Melanie Ostiguy and her partner Mitchell Harty, and Katherine Ostiguy, whom Marie often lovingly referred to as her favorite.
Marie was the beloved sister of Evelyn Pinto and Joyce Hammond. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Sadie Perkins, as well as her brother Charles Perkins and sister Jenny Fuller. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, who will forever hold her memory dear.
A retired librarian and retail clerk, Marie had a lifelong love of learning and books. An avid reader, she was particularly fond of the *New York Times* crossword puzzles, which she completed with unmatched skill. She was also well-known for her competitive spirit and was always a tough opponent in card and board games, where her sharp mind and quick wit shone through. Marie found joy in birdwatching, often teaching her grandchildren to identify various bird species in her backyard, creating lasting memories and fostering a love of nature in them.
Marie’s legacy of kindness, intelligence, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A private cemetery service will be held on November 23, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Planned Parenthood, a cause close to Marie’s heart at
