Mark E. Moore

December 29, 1964 — October 27, 2023

Brookfield - Mark E. Moore, 58, of Brookfield, died on Friday, October 27, 2023 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Mark leaves his son, Raley Moore, his daughter, Courtney and her husband Sam Moore, and their mother, Cynthia A. Moore of Huntington Beach, CA. He also leaves his life partner, Tara Browne, of Brookfield, MA and her sons, Andrew and Aras Bellahcene, whom he helped to raise; and 3 brothers: Robb, Dean, and Todd Miller and a sister, Paula Banta. He was born in Omaha, NE, son of the late Robert and Carol (Wells) Miller, and brother of the late Sara Miller.

Mark served in the United States Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant, and retired in 2013 as the Chief Technology Officer for Tennenbaum Capital Partners, Inc.

Mark was a dedicated father, attending every school performance with pride, and serving as a volunteer youth soccer and rugby coach and referee for many years. He especially loved to delight family and friends with his creative cooking, and was known both for his trademark chili and for improvising delicious dishes from basic recipes. Mark loved a wide variety of music and stories; he knew a song for every occasion, and could always be counted on for a tale or two when folks were gathered around. Above all, Mark was a maker and a teacher, and took pride both in his own accomplishments and, even more so, in those of his children. After his retirement, Mark took up writing; the first two books of his series Ten Pound Bag can be found at RoyalRoad.com and on his Patreon page under the pen name of Emmeran; the third book was never completed.

A celebration of life for Mark will be held in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to Toys For Tots, at www.toysfortots.org .

Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield is assisting his family with arrangements.
