Mary Evelyn Healey

Ware - The family of Mary Evelyn Healey (Lindemuth) are sad to announce her passing at home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She was born in August of 1930 in Locust Township, Pennsylvania, to George Daniel and Nellie (Long) Lindemuth. She maintained a love for her Pennsylvania roots all her life.

She received her nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1951. From 1952 to 1954, she served as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force at Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva, NY. There she met and married Girard (Jerry) Healey of Ware who was also serving in the Air Force.

Mary raised her family and lived the rest of her life in Ware. She worked as a nurse at Mary Lane Hospital, a visiting nurse, and later as the School Nurse for the Ware Public Schools. She was an avid reader, a wonderful cook, and a loving mother and grandmother who was the center of her family.

She is survived by her three children, Dennis Healey (Robin), Daniel Healey (Mary), and Kerry Sue O’Riley. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, Kelly Healey, Kate Healey (Rufus Polk), Andrew Healey (Samantha), Daniel Healey, Brian Healey, Shelby Kerns (Peter), and Spencer O’Riley; five great-grandchildren, Sebastian Lopez (Bridie McLaughlin), Amir Polk, Vivian Polk, Alder Healey, and Cade Kerns; and one great-great-grandchild, Francis Lopez. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Lynn, sister-in-law, Joan Lindemuth and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Girard Healey, brothers Earl and Paul Lindemuth, and son-in-law, Rob O’Riley.

Calling hours for Mary will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 10 to 11:30am in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St. in Ware. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 in the funeral home immediately after the calling hours. Private burial will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made to Friends of the Ware Library, 37 Main St., Ware, MA 01082.
