EAST LONGMEADOW: Mary (Ballard) Runge, 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026.  She is survived by her sons: Robert and Thomas Runge; her brother David Ballard and his wife Nancy; her sisters: Kathy Desmond and her husband Paul and Barbara Hanson and her husband George; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all of whom she adored.  Her siblings: Wesley and Gerard Ballard and Patricia Ardolino predeceased her.

Mary was born in Springfield the daughter of the late Russell and Rita (Finneran) Ballard.  She treasured her family and found joy in the simple pleasures of life.  Mary's warm and caring nature was felt beyond her family.  She was a devoted home health aide in Springfield for many years.  She was a kind and compassionate soul who will be missed by all.  

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Care One Redstone, Mercy Hospital and Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care.  Their kindness and support meant the world to Mary and her family.
