Max E. King, 88, of Warren, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield. He was a long-time resident of Lighthouse Point in Florida before moving back to Massachusetts where he lived previously in Northboro.
He leaves his daughters, Donna Philbrook of Lighthouse Point, Florida, Kimberly Huber and her husband Alan of Simi Valley, California, and Sabrina Cronenberger and her husband Duane of Warren. He also leaves five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren in Ohio, California, South Carolina and Massachusetts. Max was predeceased by his wife, Christine I. (Nickerson) King in 2014, and his siblings in prior years. He was born in Springfield, Illinois, son of the late Edward H. King of Defiance, Ohio and Goldie (Jones) Randall of Atwood, Illinois.
Mr. King enlisted in the United States Air Force when he was 18, after graduating from high school, serving during the Korean War. While an airman, he was stationed at bases throughout the United States and Japan for 13 years, and was discharged from Loring Air Force Base in Maine in 1966. After leaving the service, Max worked as a truck driver for several years before retiring.
At his request, services for Max will be held privately. Burial will be in Crouseville Cemetery in Washburn, Maine.
