Muriel R. Lane

North Brookfield - Muriel R. Lane, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2017. She was born in North Brookfield and lived there all her life. She was the youngest of eight children and the last surviving child of Joseph and Annie (Beswick) Lyons.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert O. Lane in 2009, and their son, Robert O. Lane, Jr. in 2006. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Andrew Caron, with whom she lived, and her son, Brian J. Lane and his wife, LaQuita, from Sedona, AZ. She is survived by her granddaughters, Crystal, Bethanie, and Jade, and her great grandchildren, Dayton, Olivia, and Landon.
Muriel was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She made holidays and birthdays special, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader. Muriel made it her ambition to lead a quiet life, giving glory to her Heavenly Father.
The family would like to express gratitude to the nurses of Overlook Hospice for their kindness, care, and support during her final weeks and days.
A Funeral Service for Muriel will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of North Brookfield, 144 N. Main St., North Brookfield. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Donations in Muriel's name may be made to the First Congregational Church of North Brookfield. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
