Myland Francis McRevey, Sr., 83
West Brookfield - Myland Francis McRevey, Sr., 83, of West Brookfield passed away on Monday, July 21 at his home.
He was a native of West Brookfield and was born on October 19, 1930. He attended the wooden District School on Ragged Hill Road, and graduated from Warren High School in 1948. Myland was predeceased by his son, Edward Dennis McRevey, his parents, Frank and Agnes McRevey, and his brothers, Forrest and Paul McRevey. Myland served in the Army in the 1950's and was stationed at Fort Dix. He grew up on the McRevey Farm in Wickaboag Valley Road. "Mike" was highly skilled in heavy equipment operation and lumber mill procedures. He owned and operated the Great Brook Sawmill on Wickaboag Valley Road for many years. He had many friends and was well-known in the Pioneer Valley area.
Myland is survived by his former wife and friend, Shirley W. (McRevey) Nimmons, his son, Myland F. McRevey, Jr., grandson, Matthew and granddaughter, Shelby. He is also survived by his sisters, Fern Maskell, Sheila Burke, and Rita Buck, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Funeral Mass for Myland will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Church in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in West Brookfield. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 24, from 6 to 8 PM at the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
