Ware-Olive Elizabeth (VanWart) McQuaid, 89, passed away after a short illness on Dec. 8, 2015. She leaves behind a legacy started when she and her beloved husband of 67 years John "Jack" McQuaid were wed on Oct. 30, 1948, 3 sons John and his wife Bambi, Douglas and his wife Joanne and Francis; 6 grandchildren Katie and her husband Fred Venne, John and his fiancée Kara Brown, Beth and her husband Todd Brown, Damon and his wife Melissa, Jacob and his significant other Samantha Brouillette, and Charles McQuaid and 11 great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother-in-law Paul McQuaid, 3 sisters-in-law Anna McQuaid, Rita McQuaid and Barbara McQuaid, as well many nephews and nieces. She was the Daughter of the late Lewis and Lillian (Layton) VanWart. Besides her parents and husband she was also predeceased by her sisters, Lillian Bedard, Clarissa Potter and Alice VanWart and by her brother Lewis VanWart. Olive leaves behind many friends from her long involvement in All Saints Church, being Jack's biggest supporter of his dedication to the Knights of Columbus, his many political ventures, bus trips to New Hampshire and Canada ("what happened on the bus trips stayed on the bus trips", was Olive and Jack's saying), the Daughters of Isabella, the Golden Agers and many outings to Crystal Springs. Olive was the heart and soul of this legacy. She will be greatly missed by all. According to her wishes there will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday Jan. 9, 2016 at 10am in All Saints Church. Burial will be private.
