Paul D. Young

Ware - Paul D. Young, 83, of Ware, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with his family by his side.



He leaves behind his daughter, Kim Goudreau and her husband Keith of Ware; his son, Jim Young and his wife Ruth of Ware; his son, David Young and his wife Denise of Ware; his loving companion of many years, Mona Dornan of Ware; his beloved grandchildren, Devin, Amanda, Heather and her husband Dylan, Ian, and Taylor; his eleven adored great-grandchildren, Isaac, Owen, Anna, Aubrey, Declan, Landon, Adam, Bailee, Emma, Everleigh, and Avaree; as well as his sister, Suzanne Zisk of North Brookfield.  He was predeceased by his wife, Diane M. (Pietryka) Young; by his granddaughter, Jasmine; and by his sister, Joan M. Canole.  He was born in Ware, son of the late James and Rita (Bousquet) Young.



Paul was the proud owner of Paul Young & Son Rubbish Removal.  He worked for himself for 35 years, and was able to retire at the age of 60.



Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and an incredible friend to many.  He had a great sense of humor and was an avid lover of fishing and hunting. He enjoyed kicking back and having a cold beer with his good friends, whether they were watching the sun set or playing a game of cards.  Paul loved supporting as many benefits as he could attend and was always giving back to his community.  He truly had a heart of gold.  He even enjoyed the subtleties of taking care of his lawn, and making sure it was just right.



He was a past Grand Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.



A funeral mass for Paul will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 11:00am in the All Saints Church in Ware.  Guests are asked to please meet directly at church.  Burial will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in honor of his love and devotion to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren,  P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
