Ralph L. Wood, 70
Ware - Ralph L. Wood, 70, died Friday, May 1, 2015 in Baystate Medical Center.
He leaves his loving wife of 32 years, Margaret B. (Brodersen) Wood; two sons, Ralph L. Wood, Jr. of Illinois and Aaron Wood and his wife Stephanie of Pittsfield; four daughters, Diane Wood of Ware, Sharon Ostiguy and her husband Kenneth and Debbie Apraham of Warren, and Linda Wood Scotland; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Lu Lu. He was predeceased by two sons, David J. Wood and Neil H. Apraham and two brothers, Richard and Robert Wood. He was born in Springfield, son of the late Ralph W. and Eleanor (Demers) Wood and grew up in Wales and later lived in West Warren before moving to Ware 27 years ago.
Mr. Wood was a truck driver for many years for several companies including Coca Cola, Radford Trucking and the former Quality Milk in Ware where he was known as the Ware Milk Man.
He attended Pilgrim Baptist Church in North Brookfield and loved working around his house in the yard.
A Funeral Service for Ralph will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Pilgrim Baptist Church, 33 West Brookfield Rd., North Brookfield. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
