Richard P. Adams, 74
New Braintree - Richard P. Adams, 74, died on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Vibra Hospital in Rochdale, as the result of a tragic accident on his farm earlier this year.
He leaves his sister, Judith Seamon of Phillipston; a niece, Linda Pope; a nephew, Jack Seamon; his special cat, Oakie and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Cutting in 1981. Richard was born in Ware, son of the late W. Prescott and Lena (Smith) Adams, and was a life-long resident of New Braintree.
Mr. Adams was a farmer and the owner of Thistle Rock Farm, where he grew hay and corn. Although he rarely had time off from his busy work day, he enjoyed attending the agricultural fairs in the fall, and going out to breakfast with his friends.
Rick's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his friends, neighbors, and farm colleagues who were so devoted to helping with the farm and for visiting with him.
A Funeral Service for Rick will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main Street, West Brookfield. Calling hours will be held prior the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
