Richard P. Bennett

Sturbridge – Richard Paul Bennett, 76, of Sturbridge, passed away Monday, April 14th, 2025, at UMass University, Worcester MA.

Richard leaves his beloved wife of 46 years, Sandra A. Bennett. He also leaves his daughter, Brooke Bennett and her husband, Steve; his four grandchildren, Samantha Bennett, Alex Cournoyer, Kim Cournoyer, and Evelyn Thomas and her caregiver Tiani; his sister, Barbara Spencer; as well as his nieces, Kimmy Panek and Stacy Adil. Richard was predeceased by his daughter, Crystal Bennett, whom he will be buried close to at Pine Grove Cemetery in West Brookfield, MA. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Howard P. and Ruth I (Davis) Bennett.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he had a long career as a Postal Worker for the USPS in Shrewsbury, MA. Richard enjoyed working on his Harley and taking it out for rides in good weather. He also enjoyed woodworking, and spending time outside, cutting down trees to provide firewood for his woodstove in the winter.

Graveside Military Honors for Richard will be held on Monday, April 28th, at 11:30AM, in Pine Grove Cemetery in West Brookfield.
