Ware - Richard D. Taylor, 67, of Ware, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He leaves his four beloved daughters; Kimberly S. Taylor and her spouse Shawn of Brookfield, Melissa Taylor, Jessica Chick-Taylor and her spouse Johnathon of Brookfield, and Kelly Taylor of Brookfield; his grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Damian, Johnathon, Nathan, Alivia, Paige, Gabriel, and Levi; as well as his sisters, Linda Mertizc of Barre, and Marilyn Sinclair and her spouse Barry of Ware. He was predeceased by his siblings, David and Susan Taylor. He was born in Ware, son of the late David J. and Mary E. (Wilder) Taylor.
Richard worked at the former Federal Paper Board Manufacturing Co. in Thorndike for many years. He then worked as a Forklift Operator at Hardwick Kilns for ten years before retiring.
Richard was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and friend to all. He was a hard working man, who gave his family the world. He enjoyed nature and walking trails, fishing, camping throughout New England, and especially the peace of being on the water with his family.
He was a past member of the Lions Club 33A Palmer.
Calling hours for Richard will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street, in Ware. A graveside service will be held in the Hardwick Center Cemetery at a later date.
