Ware - Rita D. (Gauthier) Zajda, 74, of Pulaski St., died Monday, July 9, 2018 in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
She leaves her husband of 30 years, William N. Zajda; two daughters, Tammy Dion and her husband Steve of Chicopee and Lynn Tirrell and her boyfriend, Mike of Daytona Beach, FL; two brothers, Paul Gauthier of Gilbertville and Richard Gauthier and his wife Mary Ann of Ware; one sister, Shirley Lowell and her husband John of Gilbertville; a brother-in-law, Robert Berthiaume; a sister-in-law, Sandra Berthiaume; six grandchildren, Adam, Korey, Dustin, Nathan, Matthew, and Tiffany; four great-grandchildren, Bryson, Liam, Qincey, and Kylee Rose, and two beloved nieces, Amy and Sarah. She was born in Gilbertville daughter of the late Roger P. and Solance M. (Seynave) Gauthier.
Mrs. Zajda worked for many years as a window assembler before retiring in 1987.
She loved rummaging at tag sales, and all types of dancing, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Rita will be held privately. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baystate Regional Cancer Program, Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01199. Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant Street, Ware is assisting her family with arrangements.
