Robert R. LaValley, 75
West Brookfield - Robert R. LaValley, 75, of West Main St., died Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Southbridge.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Marlene A. (Frew) LaValley; one son, Kevin LaValley and his wife Diane of West Warren; one daughter, Brenda LaValley and her companion Tom Desotell of Three Rivers; two sisters, Gloria Davison and her husband Kenneth of West Warren and Ruth Tuttle-Mann and her husband Fran of Warren; four grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, Kacie and Shannon; two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He was born and grew up in Springfield, son of the late Telesphore and Doris (Nareau) LaValley and then lived 50 years in West Warren before moving to West Brookfield in 2006.
Mr. LaValley worked for 30 years at the former Brookfield Machine Company in West Brookfield as a tool and die maker before retiring in 2004.
Robert was an Army National Guard Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Adams - Coney - Frew American Legion Post 244 in West Brookfield.
A Graveside Service for Robert will be held in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery in West Brookfield. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield.
