Roberta "Bobbie-Jean" Kane, 50
Greenfield - Roberta "Bobbie-Jean" Kane, 50, of Wells St., formerly of Holyoke, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 surrounded by her family.
She leaves her parents, Sandra and Robert Roes of Ware; a sister, Jeanette Streeter and her husband Eric with whom she lived; a brother, Randy Roes and his wife Nancy Lynn of Morrisonville, NY and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Chicopee and grew up in Belchertown and Ware and graduated from Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School in Palmer.
Ms. Kane worked as a collator for many years at Riverside Industries in Easthampton and also worked at Stop & Shop in Hadley.
Bobbie-Jean was active, winning many medals in the Special Olympics. She won a silver and bronze medal in gymnastics in the 1983 International Games in Baton Rouge, LA. She also enjoyed equestrian, swimming and spending time with her grand nephews.
A Celebration of the life of Bobbie-Jean will be held Monday, September 21, 2015 at 2:30 PM at the United Church of Ware, 49 Church St. in Ware. Following the service, everyone is invited to gather with her family at the church for light refreshments. There are no calling hours. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
