Ware - Ronald Jay Buskey, 90, of Ware, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19th, with his family by his side.
Ronald is survived by three of his five children, Philip Buskey of Ware; Susan Richardson and her husband, Dale, of Arkansas; Deborah Ewing and her husband, John-Paul, of Florida; his son-in-law, Larry Strickling, of Mississippi; his beloved grandchildren, Dena Ewing, Westley Ewing, Kimberly Hamilton, Mark Pippin, Matthew Perrigin, and Eric Perrigin; as well as his great-grandchildren, Colton Hamilton, Austin Hamilton, Makayla Hamilton, Caden Perrigin, and Chance Perrigin. Ronald was predeceased by his son, Edward, and daughter, Linda, both of Mississippi. Ronald was born in Ware, to the late Jay Paul Buskey and Doris Edna (Jordan) Buskey.
Ronald had an incredible work ethic throughout his life. Working at many businesses in Ware, including the Ware shoe Shop, Ware Cab Company, and for Ware Knitters in the dye house. He worked for Ludlow Papers, as well as Kanzaki specialty papers for over 30 years until he retired. Two years after he retired, in June of 2003, Ron came out of retirement to become a valued member of the Hulmes Transportation Services team, where he transported people with Developmental Disabilities to and from Day Programming, right up until he got sick this past year. Ron’s dedication spilled over to his co-workers as well, always supportive to help people get to and from work. Ronald has been an active member of AA for over 40 years and has been a help to many of his friends there over the years. Ron donated to several charities over the years, Boys Town, Disabled Veterans, St Jude, and others. He was an avid Red Sox fan as well.
A Funeral Service for Ronald will be held on Saturday, December 6th, at 2:00pm in the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St. in Ware.
