Ruth M. Mattson

West Brookfield – Ruth M. (Secker) Mattson, 89, a former long-time resident of Gilbertville, died on Tuesday evening, April 29, 2025, in Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care where she was a resident.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Ezra I. Mattson; her son, Frank Mattson of South Barre; her brother, Gordon Secker of Sharon Springs, New York, and several nieces and nephews. She was born in and grew up in New York City, daughter of the late Frank Secker and Helen E. (Letavish) Secker.
Ruth worked at the former Hilton Rest Home in Gilbertville, and then later as a machine operator at the former Aztec Industries in North Brookfield, and as a bookkeeper for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company prior to retirement.
Ruth was a long-time member of St. Aloysius Church in Gilbertville.
A graveside service for Ruth will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11AM in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Church St., in Gilbertville. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
