West Brookfield - Ruth E. White, 85, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
She leaves two brothers, Douglas White and his wife Ethel of Clearwater, FL and Neil White and his wife Irene of West Brookfield, one sister, Judith Dickson and her husband James of Dunedin, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Dana, MA daughter of the late Andrew M. and Ethel L. (Haines) White and grew up there before moving to West Brookfield in 1938 due to the construction of the Quabbin Reservoir.
Miss White worked for over 30 years for the Galileo Corporation in Sturbridge in customer service before retiring.
Ruth was an avid reader and devoted Red Sox fan who loved her family and especially her cat Josh.
A calling hour for Ruth's friends and family will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 10 to 11 AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. A Graveside Service will be held following the calling hour in the Quabbin Park Cemetery in Ware.
