Sandra G. Plumb, 69
West Brookfield - Sandra G. Plumb, 69, of Chapman Ave., died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester surrounded by her family.
She leaves one brother, William Plumb of Pittsfield; two sisters, Susan Gore and her husband Wendell and Sally Plumb of Bradenton, FL; a sister-in-law, Nancy Plumb of Leominster; her dear friend John Toppin and several nieces and nephews including Kathleen Burdett of Leominster. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Plumb. She was born in Bennington, VT daughter of the late Charles and Doris (Rooney) Plumb and grew up in Montpelier before moving to West Brookfield over 40 years ago.
Ms. Plumb was a teacher for over 40 years teaching Business and English at the Quabbin Regional High School in Barre before retiring.
She was a very active member of the First Congregational Church in West Brookfield and will always be remembered as the chowder lady. She was instrumental in starting the asparagus festival in West Brookfield and loved to quilt, play tennis and was a former member of the tennis club in Paxton.
A Funeral Service for Sandra will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the First Congregational Church in West Brookfield. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield.
