Shirley M. Bennett

New Braintree - Shirley M. (Gray) Bennett, 93, of New Braintree died on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton.



She leaves her son, Hudson D. Bennett and his wife Jessica of New Braintree; her daughter, Carolyn M. DiCicco and her partner Kim Furlong of Tunbridge, VT; six grandchildren, Peter B. DiCicco, Laura M. Leavitt, Hudson L. Bennett, Connor W. Bennett, Griffin M. Bennett and Collin J. Bennett and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Hudson R. Bennett in 2015, and her two brothers, Otis and Donald Gray.  She was born in Ware, daughter of the late William J. and Stella M. (Pepper) Gray and lived in New Braintree all her life .



Shirley was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a wonderful homemaker, and also worked as a School Bus Driver for Al Lefebvre for 20 years, before retiring in 1983.  She was a talented seamstress and quilter as well.  She was the collector for many years at the Congregational Church in New Braintree where her and Hud were long time members.



A Funeral Service for Shirley will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 1:00PM in the New Braintree Congregational Church, 3 Oakham Road, in New Braintree.  There are no calling hours, and everyone is asked to meet directly at the church.  Burial will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Overlook Hospice, DAV Room 236, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, MA 01507.  Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
