Stephen Sablack, 82
West Warren - Stephen Sablack, 82, of Main St., died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.
He leaves one daughter, Barbara J. Hastings and her husband Peter of West Warren; two brothers, Felix and Stanley Sablack of West Warren; four sisters, Linda Dusza and Rose Jacques of West Warren, Maryann Sablack of Warren, and Wanda Opalinski of Wilbraham; one granddaughter, Michelle Beauchemin of Sturbridge; two great-grandchildren, Robbie and Ryan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Marion C. (Allen) Sablack and two brothers, John and Frank. He was born in West Warren, son of the late Frank and Blanche (Pawlina) Sablack and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Sablack worked as a machinist at the former Perkins Machine Company in Warren for 29 years before retiring in 1991.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and St. Stanislaus Society in West Warren and was a former member of the West Warren Volunteer Fire Department.
A Funeral Mass for Stephen will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Church in West Warren. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 1, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. Burial with military honors will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Warren.
