Thomas J. Arnesen, 79, of West Brookfield, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester following a brief period of declining health.
Thomas leaves his brother, Arne O. Arnesen, Jr, and his wife, Diane, of Hampden; his sister, Anne Marie Tetrault and her husband, Paul, of Southbridge, his sister- in- law Jill OConnor and her husband Mark of Barre. He was a Father Grandfather figure to many others including numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverly A. (Dorman) Arnesen. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ on April 30, 1945, son of the late Arne O. and Anne Marie (Casidy) Arnesen, also former residents of West Brookfield.
Thomas was truly a lifelong West Brookfield resident, having lived in the town for nearly 75 years. He spent his early years growing up on Lake Wickaboag enjoying the numerous activities on the lake. He was a member of the Wickaboag Boat and Ski Club, and participated in both summer and winter lake activities. He was educated in West Brookfield schools and graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer.
Tom worked the majority of his career with National Grid and retired as a Head Lineman in 2003 after over 35 years with the company. He was a member of the Elks Organization for many years and a member of the Springfield Yacht Club in Chester, Ct. for over 45 years. Tom and Beverly lived on Lake Wickaboag and truly enjoyed the relaxation of lake living and the great community of neighbors and friends. Tom and Beverly also spent many years navigating the waters and visiting the many harbors in and around Long Island Sound.
Tom was a true friend to many and had many great friends. He will be greatly missed by his neighbors, friends, and the family that loved him dearly.
