Thomas E. Carroll

April 20, 1941 — March 22, 2020

Warren / Spring Hill, FL - Thomas E. Carroll, 78, died on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus.



He leaves his daughter, Nikki Sablack of Warren and several step-children; 14 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; his former wife, Donna Bomson; two sisters, Grace Elaine Queiros of Ludlow and Gail Carroll of Boston, several nieces and nephews, and his very special and loyal dog, Kasey.  He was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia Bruini and Betty Frost.  He was born in Durham, North Carolina, son of the late Sterling E. and Ruth G. (Windley) Carroll.



Mr. Carroll enlisted in the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduating from high school, and served for 5 years during the Vietnam War era.  After an honorable discharge, he earned his Associates Degree from American International College in Springfield.



Thomas lived in Spring Hill for 40 years, where he owned his own residential home building company.  He was a long-time member of the First Christian Church.  He enjoyed racing school busses as a hobby, and fishing with his friends Jim and Chick. Tom loved following professional football, and was an avid reader and history buff.  Known for having a quick wit and not a lot of patience, he will be missed by all those who knew him.



A private Graveside Service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery in Warren, and a Celebration of Life for Tom is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
