Vernon S. Keith , 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Barbara A. ( Zukowski) Keith of Warren. His Children: Steven Keith and his wife Karen of Stoneham, Cheryl Colton and her husband Douglas of Townsend, Susan Keith and her husband Anthony of Boca Raton, Vicki Keith and her husband Dennis of Nashua, Paul Heon and his wife Amy of Charlemont, Aimee Heon of Greenfield, Robert Heon of Hatfield and Thomas Heon and his wife Ruth Lopriore of Warren. 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren. His siblings: Mary Jane O'Meara and her husband Gregory of Hingham, Michael Nicolazzo and his partner Louise of Carver, Kevin Nicolazzo and his wife Dorothy of Ossipee and Karen Brown and her husband Douglas of New Hampshire along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his brother Donald Keith, his son Vernon (Skippy) Keith and grandchildren Nicole (Coley) McTighe and Daniel (Bugzy) Ruane.

Vernon was born in Woburn and attended Stoneham High School. He left school as a sophomore to serve his country and enlisted in The United States Army during the Korean conflict. Upon retirement, he was awarded his GED from Stoneham High School. Vernon founded the pop warner program in Stoneham and was always a wonderful support to all of his players. His great love for sports brought him to referee High School and College baseball and hockey. Vernon was known for his baking skills and famous for his whoopie pies, fudge and piccalilli. Vernon enjoyed golfing, putting his carpentry skills to use building picnic tables and being a jack of all trades to help family and friends. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

All are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 9:00AM-10:30AM at Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main Street West Brookfield, MA 01585. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11am at Sacred Heart Church , 10 Milk Street West Brookfield, MA 01585. Burial with full military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery , West Main Street, West Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vernon's memory may be made to: The Sharing Cupboard, P.O.
