Virginia M. Hemingway, 79
Holland - Virginia M. (Sintau) Hemingway, 79, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 in Baystate Mary Lane Hospital in Ware.
She leaves four sons, David Hemingway and his wife Noreen of Ohio, NY, Steven Hemingway and his wife Donna of New Bedford, Mark Hemingway and his wife Michelle of Fiskdale and Alan Hemingway and his wife Jennifer of West Hartford, CT; Five daughters, Padma Pali of New Hampshire, Annie Lund of Franklin, NH, Nancy Hemingway of Plymouth, Sharon Grabosky and her husband Steve of Baldwinsville, NY and Jan Ruggeri and her husband Bill of Palmer; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Robert A. Hemingway and a brother, Joseph Sintau. She was born in New Britain, CT daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sintau and has lived in Holland for 44 years. She had Multiple Masters, plus 30 degrees in Psychology.
Virginia ran and published a magazine with her husband called The Notebook for several years in the 60's which was free to residents of New Britain CT. She also was a Central Connecticut State University teacher, a Grafton High School teacher and guidance counselor, a Northeast Regional Manager for GNC and then worked as a business auditor for the Federal Labor Department before retiring.
She was an accomplished pianist, sang and enjoyed music, photography and gardening.
A Funeral Service for Virginia will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. A calling hour will be held Wednesday prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery.
