Willa L. Davis

New Braintree - Willa Lillian (Morse) Davis, 89, of New Braintree, crossed over to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday afternoon, January 28, 2022.



She was born March 28, 1932 in Oakham, Massachusetts to the late Alfred and Dorothy (Moore) Morse.  Willa attended Girl's Trade School in Worcester, of which she was very proud.  She fondly referred to her years at Girl's Trade throughout her life and was an excellent cook.  Willa spent her early married years raising her children and later working as a Certified Home Health Aide which she enjoyed immensely.  She loved caring for and cooking for the people who were in her charge. Willa attended the First Congregational Church in West Brookfield for many years where she was a member of the Martha Guild. She and John later attended the Pilgrim Baptist Church in North Brookfield.



Willa is survived by five children, Rev. Cliff Davis and his wife Beverly,  Robert Davis, Sr. and his wife Sherri, Gregory Davis, Elaine Davis, and Rebecca Davis; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Willa was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, John C. Davis, Sr., daughters, Carolyn R. Davis in 1968, Louise K. Martineau in 2008, Peter Davis in 2020, and her son-in-law Michael E. Weeks in 2019.



Willa worked as a Home Health Aide at Spencer Family Health Agency for 10 years, before retiring in 1991.



A Funeral Service for Willa will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 11AM in the Pilgrim Baptist Church, 33 West Brookfield Road in North Brookfield.  A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11AM in the church prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Southeast Cemetery in New Braintree Cemetery in the spring.
