William A. Dowell

Ware - William A. Dowell, 81, of Ware, died on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center after a brief illness.
He leaves his loving wife of 54 years, Claire L. (Letendre) Dowell; his son, William A. Dowell, Jr.; two brothers, John and Roddy; three sisters, Chloe, Christine and Kim; three adoring grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan and Emma and his long time friend Freddie. He was born in Accord, New York, the son of the late Lionel and Pauline Anita (Beaudin) Dowell.
Mr. Dowell served in the United States Navy for four years.
William was a carpenter for 37 years before retiring in 1999. He loved working with his hands and making wood furniture for the family and special wooden toys for his grandchildren. He enjoyed his wood shop and spending time outdoors cutting and splitting logs preparing for the cold winter days then rewarding himself indoors sitting by his roaring fires.
There will be no services held.
Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware is assisting his family with arrangements.
